Sunday Service 11:00am–12:00pm
Christian Science services are open to the public for inspiration, fellowship, and healing. Our sermon is drawn entirely from the Holy Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (the discoverer and founder of Christian Science). The service is conducted by two readers chosen by the membership of the church since the only “pastor” in Christian Science churches is the Bible and the Christian Science textbook. Hymns, prayer, and musical selections accompany the service. Child care for young children is provided during the service for those who are too young for Sunday School.
Note: A special church service is held at 10:00 in the morning on Thanksgiving Day. It includes a shorter sermon, similar to the Sunday sermon, as well as a period for sharing testimonies of gratitude for God’s blessings in our lives.
Sunday School 11:00am–12:00pm
Our Sunday School, meeting concurrently with the church service, provides a strong spiritual education based on a practical understanding of God’s care. Young children and teens have discussions and practical lessons that enable them to understand God’s care for them. They learn how Jesus and his disciples healed others and how they can apply God’s healing power in their daily lives. Bible foundations include the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus Christ, and the Lord’s Prayer. Bible stories and lessons are explored in the light of the Christian Science textbook. Infants and very young children are cared for in our childcare room until they are ready for Sunday School.
Wednesday Testimony Meeting 7:30–8:30pm
This service is a testimony meeting, during which those attending may share inspiration and accounts of healing that have resulted from their study and prayer, which have enabled the testifiers to demonstrate God’s healing power in their lives. The service includes hymn singing, readings from the Bible and correlative passages from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, prayer, and a period of about a half hour reserved for testimonies. Child care for young children is provided.
Jesus Christ was the founder of Christianity. Our church is based completely on his life. He taught that God is the Father of everyone and that God loves and cares for his children. Jesus proved God’s love for humanity through his many works and words recorded in the Gospels (the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible). His teachings include the Lord’s Prayer, parables, instructions about loving others (“Love your neighbor as yourself.”), and loving God. His works included healing others of numerous physical challenges (sickness, blindness, lameness, and many more). Christian Scientists are learning to follow Jesus by understanding how he healed and blessed others. That is the reason we are offering our church services and Reading Room to this community.
Christian Science churches around the world share the same pastor! That’s because we do not have personal preachers or priests. Instead, our sermons, or Bible Lessons, are compilations from the Holy Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Our “pastor” is available at all times for study, comfort, inspiration, and healing. Each week, in preparation for the Sunday service, we study the Bible Lesson daily. Citations from both books focus on topics such as God, Christ Jesus, and Love. You can subscribe online or at our Reading Room to a variety of Bible Lesson formats; or purchase the Citation and Full Text printed editions at our Reading Room:
